Who can get it?
The FA recognise that all schools are unique in their nature and so they have established three levels of Charter standard from basic to development for both primary and secondary and a separate award for special schools altogether.
This means that any school can become a Charter Standard School.
Why should we get it?
Schools who achieve Charter Standard Status may receive a number benefits including:
- Free Equipment
- Posters/CD Rom/Competitions/Newsletters etc
- Tickets to youth and women’s games
- Entry into local and national awards
- Enhancing Football Foundation facility and revenue bids
- Access to up to £400 worth of kit through the Football Foundation Junior Kit Scheme
- Bursaries for FA coaching awards for teachers
- Access to exclusive in-service training sessions
- Use of the Charter Standard Logo on tracksuits, polo shirts, strips, letterheads etc
But by far and away the most important reward is in the hidden Benefits – e.g. positive commitment to PE seen by community, parents/guardians, children and governors.
What do we need to get the award?
Applying for Charter Standard Status is not meant to be a time consuming nor mentally challenging process; which is why the Cumberland FA has produced an easy to follow enquiry form.
The form will allow you to gain an understanding of the criteria needed to achieve the award and how much work you would need to do to complete the award.
If you would like to apply for Charter Standard status, or if you have any questions, then please contact Ben Snowdon, Football Development Officer on 01900 872310 ext. 21, or e-mail Ben.Snowdon@CumberlandFA.com
