Disability football

Cumberland FA are committed and dedicated to the growth and development of football for disabled people throughout the County.

We are committed to enabling everybody to play our national game, and reach their potential as a player, coach, referee or administrator.

With our commitment to The FA Disability Football Strategy and The Football League Trust (Every Player Counts) there is much planned over the following two years, including:

  • Improvement in the quality of training,
  • Coaching & support to disabled people,
  • Participation increase
  • The creation of Clubs with regular playing & competition opportunities
  • A creation of performance pathways to assist in the progression of players to County, then National teams
  • Mentoring schemes & creation of Football Ambassadors

The football disability programme aims to establish opportunities for participation, and offer quality provision for people with disabilities.

The Football Development Team are keen to support any Club wishing to become more accessible to people with disabilities or wishing to establish a disability football team within the Club.
