Cumbria Womens League

With the continued development of girl’s football in Cumbria, Cumberland FA in partnership with Westmorland FA have extended the pathway for all players at all levels.

Cumbria Women’s League is now in its second season with nine teams currently part, a 50% increase on season 2008/09. Teams from across Cumbria have the opportunity to play competitive football without travelling out of the County.

Abbeytown, Carlisle City, Crown Newlaithes (Carlisle), Dalton United Ladies, Harraby Ladies (Carlisle), Kendal Wattsfield FC, Milnthorpe & District Ladies, Penrith AFC Development and Whitehaven Ladies are currently playing in the League.

A festival was held at the Sheepmount in Carlisle to kick off the second season of the League.

Any females aged 16 and over can play in the League. Clubs are hoping to recruit more players to play in the League. If anyone is interested in getting involved in playing, the contacts for the Clubs can be downloaded from the related documents section.

For the fourth year, the Umbro FIVES competition will take place in Cumbria giving teams the opportunity to play at Wembley. County competitions will take place in Whitehaven and Kendal. More details will be out shortly
