Cumberland FA - developing football for everyone
Development - take your skills to the next level

Cumbria Womens League

With the continued development of girl’s football in Cumbria, the Cumberland FA in partnership with the Westmorland FA turns the focus to extending the pathway for all players at all levels.

A women’s league moved a step closer following a meeting with women’s clubs in the county at Penrith in March 2008.

Any females aged 16 and over can play in the league. Clubs are hoping to recruit more players to get ready for the new season. If anyone is interested in getting involved in playing, the contacts for the clubs can be downloaded from the related documents section.

There have been a number of events building up to the new league, which kicks off in September 2008 involving 7 teams from across the county, including the Umbro 5’s competition in Penrith in May 2008. The launch of the league took place on Wednesday 27 August 2008 at Penrith FC with a 6 aside festival.
