Discipline

    •
Cumberland FA are responsible for maintaining discipline at grassroots level within the County, and abiding by the procedures issued annually by The FA.

Players and coaches have a duty to see the game is played in the right spirit otherwise they will fall foul of the disciplinary rules & regulations as laid down by The Football Association.

The role of the Football Services Team is to ensure that the Rules and Regulations of The FA and County FA are upheld, and to maintain good discipline and fair-play in the grassroots game.

As a Club, you are fully responsible for ensuring that your players are not suspended before you play them. If you do play a suspended player, then you could be facing a fine and you run the risk of having points deducted by your League. The player will also potentially face a fine &/or have his/her suspension increased.

Clubs and players should be aware that we are now linked to a national database, which links information about players and Clubs including all suspensions, from across the Country.

Please click on ‘Suspensions’ for more details.

Match Based Discipline

The match categories are Saturday, Sunday, Midweek, Representative, Schools, Veterans & Friendly.

Suspensions under the match based discipline system will commence 14 days from the date of fixture.

This approach will improve the consistency of sanctions throughout all levels of the game across the Country, and ensure suspensions that are imposed on players are fair and in proportion to the offence they have been charged with.

A match based suspension for a standard charge (straight red card, 2 x yellow cards) in any of the types of football will only result in a suspension from that type; the individual will be free to participate in all other types during the suspension. The only exception is in the case of misconduct charges which result in suspensions from 'All Football'.

If you have not received correspondence relating to a fixture within 7 days of the sending off, then you must contact the County FA immediately. Non-receipt of paperwork is not a valid defence, and a charge will be issued for playing whilst under suspension.
