Referee Opportunities

Basic Referee Training Course Announced

From local park football on a Sunday morning to the FA Cup Final, all football needs referees.

With more than 170 registered referees officiating all across Cumberland, we provide the support and experience for you to help progress your skills as far as you want. Whether you aspire to officiate on the Premiership or to referee the local U9's team, we can provide you with the support, training and resources to assist you in achieving your goal.

Who can become a referee?

Anyone over the age of 14 can become a referee. All that is required is a passion for the game and the successful completion of a training course. Many of our existing referees started on courses organised by Cumberland FA. If you have just finished playing and you want to give something back to the game or if you wish to start a career in refereeing then read on!

How do I become a referee?

The first stage involved in becoming a referee is to make contact with us to discuss your aspirations and the second stage is to attend a Basic Referees Training Course.
