Cumberland FA is delighted to announce the dates for the 2017 Charter Standard Festival, which is set to take place over the weekend of Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 June 2017.
Always a fantastic weekend of football, the Charter Standard Festival brings together all clubs with FA Charter Standard status within the county, with matches played among varying age groups.
As a thank you for the continued support of Cumberland’s Charter Standard clubs, the festival will once again be available completely free of charge to clubs wishing to get involved.
Established 12 years ago, the Charter Standard Festival has grown drastically since the first took place in 2005, with an incredible 240 teams taking place in 2016’s event.
Cumberland FA is currently working on the structure for this year, based upon feedback from coaches, clubs and volunteers received following last year’s festival. As soon as this is finalised, Cumberland FA will release details, including information regarding the days on which teams will be playing. This detail will be dictated by venue capacity, as well as the number of entries expressed in each age group.
James Reid, Football Development Officer at Cumberland FA, said: “We are delighted to once again put on a festival as a ‘thank you’ to our grassroots clubs for their work over the season. It’s fantastic to see how we have grown over the past 12 years – and we’re hoping that growth continues with 2017’s Charter Standard Festival.”
Entry forms for this year’s festival will be emailed to all club secretaries in the coming weeks.
If you’re a secretary that hasn’t received an entry form by 22 February 2017, please email email@example.com
