Christmas Break for Girls' PDC

The Cumberland FA Girls’ Player Development Centre has now closed its doors for a Christmas break.
All girls involved will now take a winter break before re-joining the programme in February 2017.

Jess Nelson, Football Development Officer at Cumberland FA, said: “We are really pleased with how the Girls’ PDC has kicked off this season.

“We had a great response to the open trials this year, seeing more than 170 girls attend over the two centres. The girls we have taken into our programme have shown fantastic willingness to learn and be tested.

“We look forward to welcoming our selected players back in February for the second part of the programme.”

To date, players involved have taken part in sessions looking at 1vs1 defending, attacking play, finishing and maintaining possession.

Meanwhile, goalkeepers have taken part in bespoke goalkeeper workshops delivered by goalkeeping coach Kyle Preston.

During the course of the first half of the programme, girls also enjoyed a half-term camp with those involved in Durham’s regional talent centre. Over 60 players enjoyed the camp, which saw Cumberland’s North side take on the West centre in afternoon games.
