Cumberland FA Women's League 2018

Cumberland FA is pleased to open its team entry window for the 2018 Women’s League.

The Cumberland FA Women’s League offers weekly 9v9 football for teams during the months of March to October, offering a fun yet competitive format for local teams to play in, and guaranteeing some sunshine along the way.

The league also supports Under-16 teams transitioning into open age football by falling in line with their end of season programme, offering a great first experience in women’s football.

Over the last three years Cumberland FA has made some changes to the way local women’s football is played. We are really proud of our new format, as since then have doubled participation in the game, with our local women’s county league growing from five teams to 10.

KEY DATES

Jess Nelson, Cumberland FA Football Development Officer, said: “We’re really excited to be opening our league entry window and getting our Cumbrian teams back together again for another exciting season.

“Last season was our biggest year to date, with 10 teams playing local weekly football, and over 120 female players involved. The league has offered a perfect platform for Under-16 teams taking their first steps in women’s football, to over 30’s returning to the game, or women simply looking for a kickabout and a bit of a social.

“We are encouraging anyone interested, whether you’re a team or an individual, to contact us today for more information and how to get involved.”
