New Phone Number for Cumberland FA

Cumberland FA is delighted to announce that it now has a new telephone number to go with its new office.

The new number is 01900 511 800.

The phone system will operate between 9am and 5pm from Monday to Friday and a new automated directory system is in place to ensure that those calling the County FA can get to who they need to speak to quickly and easily.

Ben Snowdon, Chief Executive Officer, said: “We would like to apologise to all of our members for the delay in getting an operational telephone system in place and are aware that this has caused some problems and frustrations over the last few weeks.

“However, I can assure you that no one has been more frustrated than me as the delay was completely out of our control.  As a County FA our data (e-mails etc) are managed by The FA Nationally and then we have to look at telephony independently. This meant that we needed two lines in.  One for The FA and one for ourselves.

“This work was completed and on the Wednesday following our move the phone system was installed as planned and the telephones were all operational.  However, it soon became clear that The FA’s line was not working and therefore we were left with a choice of either using our line to host data and e-mails or to have a phone system. Obviously, in the modern world electronic communication is vital and as all staff members had a mobile phone a decision was made to allow The FA to access our line whilst they investigated the problem with their own line.

“Following this it was clear that the problem meant that a new line would be required and therefore further delay was experienced as this work was ordered, completed and system re-set.

“To speed up the process we agreed to look at a new telephone number and this allowed us to pick what we believe to be a fairly easy number to remember and hope that this change signifies the start of a new chapter for us as a County FA within our new headquarters in Cockermouth.

"Finally, I would like to thank everyone within the grassroots community for their patience during this time.”
