Cumberland FA Supporting Rainbow Laces Campaign

The Rainbow Laces campaign is a way for everyone involved in sport to show their support for LGBT equality and inclusivity. The FA will be supporting the Stonewall Rainbow Laces campaign in 2018 to promote inclusion in football and we are keen to support this message across Cumberland.

There are a number of weekends that leagues, clubs and officials are being encouraged to support the campaign by wearing Rainbow Laces for their games, with the official weekends being 17th & 18th, 24th & 25th November and 1st & 2nd December

Stonewall has developed a range of measures to tackle homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in sport. The charity has issued a sports toolkit for grassroots and community sport teams to build awareness and understanding of the issues affecting LGBT people, and how they can help ensure all sports offer an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere. Stonewall will work with all of the clubs involved in Rainbow Laces to support their activities.

If your league or club would like to support this campaign or if you’re an official who’d like to get involved, please email Helen.Aitchison@CumberlandFA.com before 5pm on Wednesday 17 October to receive your rainbow laces.

We’ve already had the following clubs show an interest in getting involved:
