Cumberland FA Office

Panel Members Wanted

Cumberland FA are looking for new members to support grassroots football in discipline hearings

Cumberland FA are looking to appoint members to join an independent pool of people to sit on discipline hearings.

CFA Independent Disciplinary Panel Members
Voluntary Position (Remuneration Package included)

Independent panel members do not have to have any footballing experience, but an interest in the game and an understanding of regulatory processes is beneficial.

Independent panel members can be active football participants (playing, coaching refereeing etc.), but must be independent from the County FA and The FA.

Members of the Independent Discipline Panel will form part of the Discipline Commissions and appeal boards that adjudicate on disciplinary charges or appeals, which are issued against participants, Clubs and/or The CFA for breaches of FA rules and regulations. This will require attendance at panel meetings and via web or video conference (WebEx).

Whilst this role is voluntary position the successful candidate would be paid any agreed expenses directly incurred and associated with carrying out this role and provided with CFA branded NIKE kit.

For more information on the Responsibilities and Requirements of Independent Disciplinary Panel Members please see the Role Description.

Further Opportunities
Members of the independent panel may have the opportunity to train as a Chair and/or to sit on anti-discrimination cases if they express an interest in progressing on to these roles. (There are additional training sessions and assessments that must be completed to sit as a Chair or on anti-discrimination cases).

To Apply
If you are interested in volunteering and believe you have what it takes to be an effective CFA Independent Disciplinary Panel Member, then we would be very pleased to hear from you.

The CFA is committed to safeguarding children and adults at risk. Due to the nature of this role, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check through The FA DBS process. We will provide help and funding for members who need to update their CRBs

Shortlisted Candidates will be asked to attend an informal interview.  These sessions will be at a time and date convenient to the applicant.
Those who are selected at this stage will be expected to attend an induction evening (2 hours at a date/time tbc) and are also required to complete an online FA Disciplinary Member Assessment. From time to time we will arrange evening training sessions for panel members, which we will expect you to make every effort to attend.
