Supporting Female Coaches

Are you a Qualified Female Coach or aspiring to be a Coach?

Cumberland FA are delighted to confirm a BRAND NEW Coaching Group for Women to support females across Cumberland throughout the season.

The FREE Coaching Group has been set up to develop coaches in a female only environment and will be led by female coach mentors.

The Coaching group is aimed at Females:

  • With football qualifications or those interested in getting into coaching
  • Currently volunteering in grassroots football (girls or mixed football)

Cumberland FA are inviting interested women to come along to an introduction evening at the County FA Offices on Thursday 3 October 2019, starting at 7pm.

The Group will offer access to coaching courses at a discounted rate with more CPD opportunities available. The Group is also being developed to support existing and interested female coaches to share experiences and support their volunteering in grassroots football.

As part of the support in place, members of the brand new group will have the opportunity to attend the Cumberland FA Advanced Coaching Centre to observe as well as specific female only CPD events.

The New Group will be led by FA Coach Mentor Georgia Smethurst; who has a wealth of experience in football through playing, coaching and refereeing. Having come through the Cumberland FA Young Leader programme, Georgia has been a grassroots football coach as well as a member of the Cumberland FA Girls Talent programme coaching team.

Working with Carlisle United FC CST, first as a community coach and then as head of Women and Girls Development, Georgia is now a Sports Lecturer.

If you’re unsure whether this Group is for you, and you would like some further information, please contact James Reid on 01900 511800 or email James.Reid@CumberlandFA.com
