The FA Skills Programme

The FA has created a far-reaching programme aimed at giving youngsters up and down the country the opportunity to get fit and active whilst having fun and most importantly improving their football skills.

This widely acclaimed FA Skills Coaching Programme has arrived in Cumberland with a dedicated team of coaches to deliver to you.

The FA Skills Team are available to deliver age-specific coaching sessions at all clubs across the county within the 5-11 age range.

We are committed to helping boys and girls in England live a more active lifestyle and to reach their best ability they can in football. We also want them to enjoy their selves, gain confidence and learn teamwork and responsibility. Your children can take part in The FA Skills programme through their primary school or by signing up to take part in our regular After School Skills Centres and Free Holiday sessions.

What is a FA Skills Centre?

The Skills Centres sessions are for young people to come a long to and gain a combination of good technical football ability and an excellent attitude towards learning.

The Aims of FA Skills Centres are to:

  • Provide opportunities to practice your skills after school/In your team/or at home
  • Help direct you into a local team if you wish to do so.
  • Promote a Healthy and active lifestyle.

Day and Time:

Monday Nights:
4:00pm-5:00pm for ages 5 to 7 years old.
5:00pm-6:00pm for ages 8 to 11 years old.
5:00pm-6:00pm for Girls aged 5 to 11 years old.

Sessions:

Held indoors in the sports hall and cost £2 per week.

Wednesday Nights:
4:00pm-5:00pm for ages 5 to 7 years old.
4:00pm-5:00pm for Girls aged 5 to 11 years old.
5:00pm-6:00pm for ages 8 to 11 years old.

Sessions:

Held indoors in the sports hall and cost £2 per session (block booking preferable)

Friday Nights:
5:30pm-6:30pm for ages 5 to 7 years old.
6:30pm-7:30pm for ages 8 to 11 years old.
6:30pm-7:30pm for Girls aged 5 to 11 years old.

Sessions:

Held indoors in the sports hall and cost £2 per session (block booking preferable)

These open access sessions are for any player to improve their skills, and footballers from beginners to the more experienced are all welcome.

The fee is £2.00 per week, which will be payable to ‘Cumberland FA’ via cheque over a term basis.

Places must be booked in advance via www.TheFA.com/skills

Please note that we are unable to accept bookings on the day or via the County Office.
