Respect

    •
Welcome to the Volunteers area of the FA Respect Programme. Respect is the collective responsibility of everyone involved in football to create a fair, safe and enjoyable environment in which the game can take place.

The FA’s Respect programme provides tools for coaches, referees, volunteers and parents from grassroots to elite football – to help ensure a safe, positive environment in which to play the game. In Cumberland our leagues are signed up to The FA Respect programme and all FA Charter Standard Clubs endorse the programme.

To all Managers and Coaches - Do you want a happy, successful team?

Follow these tips for success…
• Recognise that you won’t get all your decisions right and neither will the referee.
• You are the gaffer. The team follow your example. If you rant and rave so will they!
• How many of us ever got better at something in response to someone swearing or throwing tea cups at us?
• There is something sad and quite alarming to see grown adults shout at children – don’t be a muppet!
