Women’s Football for Over 35s
Following the success of England Women during the summer and with the conclusion of the Men’s FIFA World Cup, Cumberland FA are working with local women’s teams and organisations to provide playing opportunities specifically for women over 35 (Over 35s plus Walking Football).
With the Cumberland FA Women’s League providing 9v9 playing opportunities for any females aged 16+ throughout the summer months, we’re keen to support women who perhaps aren’t confident to get involved in a club setting initially or are looking for some support to get back into the game.

We’re asking all Adult and Youth Clubs to share this information across their Club members to help spread the message to female’s linked to the Club (whether parents/carers, spectators or volunteers)
Helen Aitchison, Football Development Officer said “We’re keen to tap into the generation who didn’t get the opportunity to play football as freely as it is now available as well as for those who would be interested in getting back involved. We’re aiming to put together a range of opportunities to suit women aged 35 and over, but we need to find out what works best for the players themselves.”
By completing the short feedback form, we’ll be able to collate responses and support sessions through existing Clubs or create brand new standalone sessions to suit the needs of participants.
Whether you have never played before or would like to get back onto the pitch after a period of time away from the game, it’s the perfect time to get involved as the female game continues to go from strength to strength.
In the New Year, we’ll be supporting some dedicated sessions to get women playing – but we need to hear from you – to enable us to provide these at the right time and place!
