support for grassroots coaches

Access support initiatives and training opportunities to help you improve as a coach, be safe in your coaching and the environments you create, and access on-the-ground support when you need it.

We know it's not easy to plan and deliver quality sessions to improve and develop your players - that's why Cumberland FA run a CPD programme for Coaches and new for this season we've been developing some Podcasts as another way to support you on your coaching journey.

Safeguarding and Welfare

SAFEGUARDING IS EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY

Everyone in football has a responsibility to make our game safe and enjoyable.

This is particularly true for coaches. A coach is in a privileged position. The nature of the role means he/she can have significant influence over children and young people and develop relationships of trust with children and their parents/carers. It’s therefore important that coaches understand their safeguarding responsibilities.

Find out how The FA and Cumberland FA manages safeguarding nationally and locally. You’ll also find detailed information on the game’s safeguarding strategy, and how it applies to you.
