Play Over 35s and Over 40s in Cumberland

Cumberland FA is keen to ensure that playing opportunities are provided across the county for players who no longer have a desire to play open-age football – whether that be down to age, fitness levels, family commitments, work commitments, etc.

To increase playing opportunities the Over 35 League has played midweek throughout the summer for a number of years in Cumberland with the Cumberland FA County Veterans Trophy taking place at the end of the season.

With the increase of 'younger' players into the age bracket of 'Veterans', Cumberland FA have supported Over 40s central venue leagues (played monthly during the traditional season period) to further increase playing opportunities.

Along with the Walking Football opportunities, 'hanging up the boots' is being delayed for many footballers across Cumberland!

How to get Involved

We have created a guide to help those looking to set-up a new adult football team. The guide includes helpful information from setting up the team to increasing awareness; so should you be setting up a team in a brand new club or if you are an established club introducing a new adult team we hope you find the guide of use.
