Season 2015-2016

Cumberland FA run eleven County Cup Competitions for affiliated Clubs across the County (including the Veterans Trophy).

Almost 300 teams competed in various competitions during this season with the title of County Champions as the prize.

Competitions started back in September 2015, once the season had got underway and climaxed at the end of the season, with plenty of competitive matches throughout the year, highlighting the quality and desire within the County.

The first of the Finals took place at the home of Carlisle United FC, with Brunton Park a fitting venue for the Senior Cup Final (Cumberland Cup).

More Finals then followed, kindly hosted by local Charter Standard Clubs including Carlisle City FC, Whitehaven AFC, Abbeytown JFC, concluding with the "County Cup Weekender" at Penrith AFC.

Cumberland Cup – Workington AFC 4 v 1 Aspatria FC

Sunday Cup – Crown Newlaithes FC 1 v 2 Salutation FC

Veterans Trophy – Creighton Rangers Veterans FC 1 v 2 Harraby Catholic Club Veterans FC

Under 18 Cup – Windscale Juniors FC 4 v 3 Gillford Park Youth FC

Under 16 Cup – Cleator Moor Celtic JFC 0 v 1 Northbank (1970) JFC

Under 14 Cup –  Workington Reds Juniors FC 1 v 0 Moor Row Juniors FC

Under 12 Cup – Whitehaven AFC Juniors 2 v 3 Creighton Juniors FC

Women’s Senior Cup –  Carlisle United Ladies FC 0 v 1 Workington Reds Ladies FC

Under 16 Girls Cup – Penrith AFC Juniors (U15 Diamonds) 0 v 1 Stanwix Juniors FC (U15 Girls)

Under 14 Girls Cup – Penrith AFC Juniors (U14 Rubies) 0 v 2 Stanwix Juniors FC (U14 Girls Hornets)

Under 14 Girls Trophy – Carlisle City Juniors FC (U13 Girls) 4 v 2 Allerdale Girls FC

Under 14 Girls Plate – Whitehaven AFC Juniors 4 v 2 Castletown Juniors FC (U13 Girls)

Under 12 Girls Cup – Abbeytown Juniors FC (Athletic) 4 v 0 Carlisle City Juniors FC (U12 Girls FC)

Under 12 Girls Trophy – Northbank Juniors FC (U11 Girls) 3 v 6 Cockermouth Juniors FC

Under 12 Girls Plate – Carlisle City Juniors 2 v 9 Workington Reds Juniors FC

The Cup Finals are not only the showpiece of the season for the County FA, but an opportunity for referees across Cumberland to experience officiating in a Cup Final.
