AFFILIATION TO CUMBERLAND FA

Affiliation acts as a quality assurance and as a safety net to help protect players, Clubs, officials and administrators throughout the game.  

Affiliation to Cumberland FA includes:
Allows entry into Affiliated Leagues
Provision of suitable Public Liability Insurance cover for your Club, team and players
Eligibility to participate in County FA competitions
Eligibility to participate in National FA competitions
Opportunities to apply for grant aid and funding from The FA
Access to information and advice from the County FA personnel, FA Regional National Game Manager and FA Regional Facility Managers
Access to FA and County FA publications and resources
Opportunities to participate in FA football development schemes such as Charter Standard Awards
The opportunity to make your Club’s view known on the future development of the game to both County FA’s and The FA.

All Clubs must affiliate to their parent County Football Association, and also affiliate to the appropriate League that they wish to join for the upcoming season.

HOW TO AFFILIATE FOR SEASON 2019 / 2020

We are now inviting our Clubs to affiliate electronically for next season through the:
Whole Game System (WGS)

If you have forgotten your password, or have not accessed WGS previously, please follow this link: //www.thefa.com/account/RequestPasswordReset 

*Junior Clubs, Veterans Teams, FleXI League Teams and Women's League Teams must complete affiliation by 30th June 2019*

*Adult Clubs - The deadline for completing club affiliation is 31st July 2019*


If you intend to take part in friendly fixtures, festivals or tournaments from 1st July 2019 onwards, then your affiliation application must be submitted and completed prior to the event.

Payment of your affiliation fees must then be made by no later than 1 week prior to your season commencing.

Once you have logged into your Club Dashboard, click onto the 'Club Secretary’ tab, then click on ‘Affiliation 2019-2020’ on the left hand side of the screen to complete the affiliation process.

Please be aware that can complete the affiliation process gradually so do not worry if you do not have time to complete the process in one sitting. You will find that your club information has been carried over from the previous season. Please take time to check that this is all correct, and amend any information where necessary.

The Portal will recognise which County Cup Competition your team is eligible to enter - entry into the Senior Competitions is mandatory for all senior teams, and entry into the Junior Competitions is optional.

Once you have completed your affiliation and clicked 'Submit for Approval' on Step 7, we will then review your application. Once your application has been approved by the County FA, an invoice for your affiliation fees will be generated, and you will be notified accordingly.

Payment can either then be made via the WGS Portal via a secure payment page (Barclaycard Smartpay), alternatively you can make a payment via BACS or cheque if you prefer. Please note that we are now also able to take payment over the telephone at the County Office via credit or debit card.

Please note that your affiliation number for Season 2019-2020 will be generated upon successful receipt of payment for the appropriate affiliation fees.

PERSONAL ACCIDENT INSURANCE
Please note that it is mandatory for all teams in Cumberland to have Personal Accident Insurance in place prior to playing any fixtures (this includes friendlies)

ONLINE SAFEGUARDING FOR COMMITTEE MEMBERS COURSE (in Clubs with under-18 teams)
It is now mandatory for a minimum of four Committee Members (i.e. the Chairperson, the Secretary, the Treasurer, and the Welfare Officer) at your club to complete a FREE online safeguarding course.

This applies for specific committee roles in all clubs with under-18 teams except for Premier League (PL), English Football League (EFL) and The FA Women’s Super League (WSL). This therefore includes clubs in Steps 1-7 and The FA Women’s Premier League (WPL).

Affiliation cannot be approved until all mandatory members have completed the course. Click HERE for more information and to access the course.

FA CRIMINAL RECORD CHECKS (CRC)
All coaches with under-18 teams MUST hold a valid and accepted FA CRC. Please contact your Club Welfare Officer for assistance with this process.

SUMMER FESTIVALS & TOURNAMENTS
*Please note that if your club/team wishes to take part in a summer festival or tournament, then you must ensure that your affiliation is completed prior to the event taking place. Further information can be found HERE
 
NEW CLUBS
If you are a new Club, then please contact us as soon as possible providing your proposed club name, secretary details (name, address, date of birth, e-mail address, telephone number) and then we can provide you with access to the Whole Game System.
