Under-16 County Cup Finals
Cumberland FA are looking forward to hosting the County Cup Finals for 2023-24 and we can't wait to Welcome the Players, Coaches, Match Officials and Supporters to the respective venues.
Now the ‘curtain raiser’ to Cumberland FA County Cup Finals, the Under 16 County Cup Finals were brought forward to March a number of years ago to support participating players, as they will be concentrating on their exams during the traditional ‘County Cup Final’ period later in the season.
Due to venue availability, this season the County Cup Finals will be hosted by two Clubs with the matches kicking off at the same time!
Penrith AFC have kindly agreed to host the Under 16 Mixed County Cup Final, with the Girls Under 16 Final hosted by Workington AFC. Two fantastic venues, for what promises to be two very exciting games!
As well as a proud moment for the players and match officials stepping onto the pitch, Cumberland FA would like to extend our congratulations to the volunteers from all teams involved on Sunday. Without the endless hours of coaching and organising, the players wouldn’t have this moment to look back on in the future. Volunteers are the heartbeat of the grassroots game, so we’d like to say thank you and whatever the result, we hope the coaches enjoy the occasion too!
As part of our partnership with the British Heart Foundation, Cumberland FA are raising vital funds for groundbreaking research and all donations made at the County Cup Finals will be donated.

With both teams playing in the Andrea Buggy Women’s Under 16 League, Sunday’s County Cup Final promises to be an exciting game with both sides eager to lift the silverware. Whitehaven AFC U16 have this week been crowned Spring Premier Champions!

With both teams having won League titles at various age groups in the past and the teams currently sitting 2nd and 3rd in the West Cumbria Youth League, an exciting County Cup Final awaits!
Included in our online programme is a welcome from Cumberland FA’s Chair Adam Pattison as well as each team’s ‘Route to the Final’, coaching team, playing squad and a short history.
Cumberland FA would like to wish all teams the best of luck for what should be a couple of great games!
All the talk will be about the two teams playing to win the County Cup, but the games wouldn’t be going ahead without the ‘third’ team, the Officials.
