Become a Referee
Without Referees, football matches would not be possible and with hundreds of games every weekend ranging from Junior to Adult the number of officials needed to support the grassroots game in Cumberland is significant.
Are you coming to the end of your playing days but want to keep fit and stay in the game? Then becoming an official may be the perfect opportunity for you to continue to be involved and with your playing experience, you’re already one step ahead!
Cumberland FA are looking for Referees (Aged 14 and above) to officiate in the Local Junior and Adult Male and Female Leagues.
Cumberland FA provides a programme to support new and experienced referees throughout the season. There are also Referee Associations across Cumberland providing local support.
Basic Referee Courses
In partnership with Cumbria Women’s League, Cumberland FA are providing Girls and Women with an opportunity to attend a ‘Female Only’ course as we try to encourage more females to take up the whistle.
The Female only course takes place over half term to allow girls and women still playing the game to attend without missing a match. The base course takes place on Monday 15 and Tuesday 16 February at Frenchfields, Penrith between 10am – 4pm.
A ‘call back’ evening will be confirmed following the initial course.
