Liverpool Ladies to Face Durham in Cumberland Friendly
Cumberland FA is extremely excited to announce that Durham Women FC will face FA Women’s Super League (WSL) outfit Liverpool Ladies FC in a pre-season friendly at Frenchfield Park, Penrith, on Sunday 12 August (1:00pm KO).
Cumberland FA-affiliated Penrith AFC will play host to this fantastic event, which will see Super League outfit Liverpool Ladies take on FA Women's Championship side Durham Women FC in preparation for the 2018/19 season.
Priced at just £1 for under-16s and £2 for adults, this event is a fantastic opportunity for local girls’ teams, players, parents and football fans to attend a high-profile women’s game in their home county.
A Charter Standard junior club package is also available for a maximum of 12 under-16 players and one adult, priced at just £10.
Jess Nelson, Cumberland FA Football Development Officer, said: “We’re over the moon to be welcoming these two fantastic sides to our county in a couple of weeks; not just to witness a great game of football, but to offer the opportunity for youngsters and local fans to take in the WSL matchday experience.
“We’re really looking forward to it and hope to see as many people as possible from local clubs and teams in attendance.”

Team Escort and Ball Girls
We’re giving two local, Cumberland FA-affiliated teams the opportunity to walk out with either Durham Women or Liverpool Ladies and be ball girls for the match. This is a fantastic opportunity for girls in Cumberland to experience a unique matchday experience.
To enter your team (maximum of 12 players), simply complete the following entry form and submit no later than 9am on Wednesday 25 July. Please note: two accompanying adults holding valid and accepted FA CRCs must be present on the day.
The two successful teams will be drawn at random on our Facebook page on Wednesday 25 July (time TBC).
