Cumberland Football Association is proud to have not one, but two female youth teams attending the National Futsal Finals, which are being held in Birmingham over the weekend of 23 and 24 June.
Stanwix Hornets U10 completed a solid performance at the regional stage, finishing in the runners-up spot to seal a well-deserved place in the national finals.
Meanwhile, Northbank 1970 U12 grabbed the top spot in their age group, completing all of their games and finishing top ranked in the region.
Jess Nelson, Women and Girls’ Football Development Officer at Cumberland FA, said: “We’re over the moon to see two Cumberland sides in the national finals. I think it speaks volumes for not only where we have come in the world of Futsal, but our ability to compete with other counties.
“Well done girls – enjoy the finals!”
