Back in January, 44 youth female teams joined us for the County Stage of the FA Youth Futsal Cup, at the Sands Centre in Carlisle. 

Four group winners from each age category made it through to the semi-final event, hosted at Harraby Sports Complex and Workington Leisure Centre on Sunday 25 February.

Under 10
Winners – Stanwix Hornets JFC
Runners Up – Abbeytown JFC

Under 12
Winners – Northbank 1970 JFC
Runners Up – Whitehaven AFC 

Under 14 
Winners – Workington Red Diamonds JFC
Runners Up – Abbeytown JFC 

Jess Nelson, Cumberland FA Football Development Officer, said: “This year’s competition has been fantastic. Not only has it been the biggest event to date, in terms of number of entries, but the Futsal itself has been really exciting to watch.

“Huge well done to all our teams who made it through to the semi-final stage, and of course our age groups winners, who will now go on to represent Cumberland in the Regional heat at the end of May. 

“A big thank you to all the clubs who supported the competition and our local youth leagues who year and year endorse and provide such a fantastic format of the game during the cold winter months.”
