Under-18 Final

Cup Fever at Cumberland FA

The traditional Cumberland FA cup final season has begun! Two finals are set to take place this Friday (4 May), kicking off 10 days of action with nine pieces of silverware up for grabs.

Two Cumberland FA County Cups have already been decided, with the Under-16 Cup and Under-16 Girls’ Cup being played out on a chilly day in March. Workington AFC Reds and Stanwix JFC became the first County Cup Champions of 2018 – click HERE to catch up on what happened!

The Under-18 category split into Cup and Plate competitions following the quarter-finals, with the Cup final an all East affair and the Plate final bringing two West based teams together.

Under-18 County Cup Final

Venue: Keswick FC | Kick Off: 7:00pm

The Under-18 County Cup Final brings together the top two teams from the Carlisle Glass Longhorn League for season 2017/18.

A 3-2 semi-final win - thanks to a late James Davidson 40-yard strike - booked Crown Newlaithes’ place in the final of this season’s competition. Last season’s runners-up will be looking to go one better in their final year at youth level.

Crown Newlaithes have gone through the season with only two league defeats (both to their cup final opponents) and finished runners-up in the league. Crown also have the League Cup Final to look forward to later in the month against Harraby Catholic Club.

Upperby Park JFC, winners of the Under-16 County Cup last season and this year’s Carlisle Glass Longhorn Under 18 League, will be going into the final full of confidence having gone through the league season with a 100% record.
