Harraby Catholic Club Veterans FC were confirmed as Division 1 Champions after going through the league unbeaten. The team, now in their fourth season, are going for an unprecedented quadruple having won the League and County Cup double for the past three seasons. Predominantly made up of former Harraby Catholic Club FC Northern Alliance players, the team has already secured one part of the double and will be looking to add to their collection tomorrow evening.

Andrew Hewson, manager of Harraby Catholic Club Veterans, gave his thoughts on the Final: “Every final we have played in so far has not been easy and we expect nothing but the same against Wetheral. I think it will be tight with the first goal being so important to either team.”

Now in their sixth season, Wetheral Wheatsheaf Veterans FC were formally known as Howard FC and made the switch following a new sponsor in 2015. With a number of players retiring last season, 10 new recruits have helped to secure their first ever County Cup Final.

In Division 2, Wheatsheaf Wetheral Veterans FC finished the league season in third place. Manager Richard James commented on this season: “The highlight this season has been the Cup run having knocked out two teams higher in the league. The team are very excited and looking forward to the Final but we’re aware of the big challenge against huge favourites Harraby Catholic.”
