WANT TO PLAY 11-A-SIDE FOOTBALL, BUT FIND YOUR WEEKENDS ARE TOO BUSY OR YOU CAN’T COMMIT TO PLAYING EVERY WEEK?

The brand-new 11-a-side FleXI League is the first of its kind to come to Cumberland – and is set to be launched by May 2019, with fixtures played on a Tuesday (Carlisle) and Thursday (West) evening at 3 facilities across Cumberland – Whitehaven AFC 3G, Campus Whitehaven 3G and Harraby 3G.

We are also running a specific west-based Under 21’s league for Under 18’s looking to transition to adult football.

As the name suggests, the FleXI League really does make taking part in football within the traditional 11-a-side format easier than ever. Flexi football leagues are being introduced across the country to provide opportunities to play 11-a-side football; whether it be for players that have dropped out of the game, struggle with regular weekend commitment – or just want to play football with less time and less fuss.

Many are attracted to playing games less frequently, in a reduced time frame, with rolling subs and competing within a league that reflects players’ ability levels. Another huge bonus is that it doesn’t hugely impact on family time, or other weekend leisure activities.

KEY FEATURES OF THE CUMBERLAND FLEXI FOOTBALL LEAGUE:

- FA qualified referees guaranteed - NO arranging referees or turning up without one!

- Paperwork done through the new FA Matchday App
- Unlimited squad size and rolling substitutions
- £40 per match day (Less than £3 per player - based on a squad of 14)
- High quality 3G pitch - NO rained off matches and muddy pitches!

- Coaches and parents of junior football teams

- Individuals who can no longer play weekend football due to work/family commitments

What are the benefits of playing in the Under 21’s League?

All the benefits of the Flexi League, plus the below:

- Only 2 NLS* players allowed per Matchday Squad
- 3 players between 21 and 25 allowed in the Matchday squad
(but not NLS* players who have played 5+ games)

*National League System - Step 7 or above players (who have played 5+ games)

Who is the U21’s League for?

- Under 18's moving from junior football
- Clubs who would like to develop a new team but don't have enough players to commit to weekend football.
- U21’s recreational players who fancy 11 v 11

The leagues will be set up on The FA’s Full-Time website so all fixtures will be planned for the season in advance, we also aim to use the FA’s brand new Matchday App to make the admin easier for teams.

There will be 2 set kick-off times between 5:45pm (Earliest Start) and 8:30pm (Latest Finish). Matches are 30 minutes each way.

You can register as a team or an individual. All we need to get things going is a team name and a team manager and 12 players name and D.O.B’s assigned or your personal information if you are registering as an individual - We aim to accommodate/support you joining a team in the league.

The deadline for all teams/players to register is Monday 6th May, 2019. Places will be provided on a first come, first served basis.
