We’re delighted to confirm a new venue for the Cumberland Ability Counts League and remind Disability organisations that team entries are still open!
NEW VENUE: Richard Rose Central Academy 3G Astroturf Facility, Victoria Place, Carlisle CA1 1LY
The new venue provides the following benefits:
FA Approved 3G grass-like surface and Marked Out, Small-Sided Pitches
Fully enclosed, Safe Playing Environment
Links with the Carlisle Youth Zone
More active link with Carlisle United FC
Many people with disabilities already access the site: Potential for more New Teams in 2019
Potential for growth and links with Junior Disability Football creating a Full Disability Player Pathway
Ray Sempill from Cumberland FA commented on the new venue “I appreciate that this move may mean that some teams now need to travel to the venue, or travel slightly further. Cumberland FA are offering support to groups with organising transport and applying for funds to support this. We have good links with Cumbria Community Transport and a number of organisations who offer funding for disability teams to help with this.”
An information session will take place following this new development for The Cumberland Ability Counts League. This is for existing and potential new teams and players; Carlisle Youth Zone have kindly offered to host the evening.

League Dates and Entry Information
Dates for the The Cumberland Ability Counts League 2019 (All 6-8pm):
• April 9th – Seeding Event
• May 14th
• June 11th
• July 9th
• August 13th
• September 10th
• October 8th
• November 12th (TBC)
Divisions for this season: Mixed Division 1, Mixed Division 2, Mixed Division 3 and an All-Female Division (Providing we have 3+ team entries). Teams will be allocated a division following the seeding event in April.

Ray Sempill, Football Development Officer for Cumberland FA commented “We are very excited about this move for the league. Our new home at Richard Rose Central Academy 3G Astroturf offers a high quality experience for all players.
We welcome any new disability groups or players to come and get involved in our brilliant league! All you need is 5 players for to enter a team. Get in touch if you'd like more information. With 13 teams currently playing across 3, ability banded divisions there are lots of teams for people to join.
We can support you with funding for kits and equipment, coaching qualifications and transport. Just get in touch.”

Grow the Game Funding
The Grow the Game funding is now open for 2019 applications, this will provide teams with £1,500 to start up new disability teams. Any teams interested in applying please click the link for more information.
