The competition began with a round robin competition with all teams playing each other before the top two teams went through to the Final to play for the Trophy.

A competitive Final ended with St Joseph’s from Workington once again lifting the trophy with a 2-1 win over Gretna 2008!
77 year old Derek Stevenson lifted the Cup for the second year after marshalling his defence throughout the competition, conceding no goals on the way to the Final.

Congratulations to St Joseph's Workington and thanks once again to all the teams who are supporting the Cumberland FA Walking Football League structure, offering valuable playing opportunities for players coming back into the game across the county.

Ray Sempill from Cumberland FA commented “The structure is now in place for players to play football regularly and with cup, league and festival formats there is something for everyone to get involved in. The Centres across the county are offering a fantastic weekly programme for players to come back into the game or even play it for the first time. The walking pace means that whatever the physical condition, those over 50 can get involved with the social aspect of the centres just as important as the time on the pitch.”

Cumberland FA would like to thank Cumberland Building Society for their support for the League programme and also to Paul Brecken for delivering a fantastic Cup competition as well as providing the photos.
