Cumberland FA Coach CPD

Exciting Coach Development Session

Cumberland FA is delighted to announce a unique opportunity for coaches to gain an insight into Carlisle United’s Professional Academy.

Following on from the successful England Foundation Phase DNA Phase 2 event with more than 50 local coaches in attendance, Cumberland FA have lined up another event next month with Carlisle United’s Professional Academy.

The CPD event is an excellent opportunity for coaches to gain further insight into the role of the academy as well as observe some practical demonstrations delivered by the Head of Youth Development Phase, Chris Blake.

The evening will consist of both theory and practical demonstrations using one of CUFC academy squads. There will be a short period at the end following the practical where coaches will be invited to ask questions on the insight they have seen from the evening.

The one off CPD event is designed to:

• Give coaches an insight into the CUFC Academy – Structure and Philosophy
• Give coaches an insight into the role of an academy coach – planning, reporting and reviewing
• Give coaches an insight into the types of players you are trying to produce, whether that be for the first team or to sell on…
• Demonstration practically how the coaching practice underpins the CUFC philosophy
• Question and Answer session

James Reid, Football Development Officer said;
I am delighted that Carlisle United FC have kindly opened their doors to offer such a unique event to coaches within the grassroots game in Cumberland. This event will give an excellent insight into how a professional academy operates, its philosophy and how they are working to produce the best players possible. The evening will explore a number of areas of interest for any coach as well as see in action some delivery against the CUFC philosophy.”

Date: Thursday 14th November 2019
Time: 18:00 – 20:30
Venue: Caldew School

BOOK YOUR PLACE

James continuedI am hoping that this event will help dispel some myths of academy football alongside demonstrating the level of detail in which academies must work on a weekly basis to give their players the best possible opportunity to be successful. I must take this opportunity to thank Carlisle United FC Academy staff for the opportunity to share the environment with the wider grassroots coaches in Cumberland”.

Chris Blake, Head of Youth Development Phase said;I look forward to opening our Academy doors to the Cumbrian coaching community and providing an insight into how we do, what we do within the Youth Development Phase at Carlisle United. Hopefully the evening will provide coaches with both a theoretical background and a practical feel to the types of coaching behaviours and practices we use to develop our players.”

The event is free of charge to Cumberland FA grassroots coaches and there are limited numbers, so please book your place early to avoid disappointment!
