CFA Virtual Coffee Club

Coaches Coffee Club

For the first time in 12 weeks, the Cumberland Virtual Coffee Club took a break.

With more than 60 Coaches engaging in the Cumberland Virtual Coffee Club since it began in March, the next steps are now confirmed.

James Reid, Football Development Officer for Cumberland FA commented Over the previous 12 weeks Cumberland FA have worked hard to support everyone during the lockdown and continue to give people a weekly coaching fix when we believed it was most needed.

Last week following the session, Coaches were consulted on how best to move the Coffee Club forward in order to continue to offer support and development opportunities. Following the feedback, we have decided to move this session to bi-weekly for the foreseeable future.

Cumberland FA are also delighted to confirm that the Coffee Club will be moving to a more permanent fixture in people’s diaries across the year as opposed to a one off project ending as lockdown is slowly released.

We've been delighted to welcome previous guests such as the England National Futsal Coach, The FA's Lead on the Foundation Phase, FA Mentors, Danny Grainger and more.....

Previous Coffee Club Sessions

With the mindset of those in attendance changing as the lockdown measures begin to ease concentration shifts to other matters including how grassroots football can begin to restart.

Cumberland FA are no different, we have recently launched Stage 1 of the 3 stage strategy with the Planning To Play phase and will endeavour to cascade weekly guidance from the Government via the FA. The County held an information sharing webinar with all club secretaries and welfare officers in Cumberland at the start of this week to share with the clubs current FA and Government guidance.

Catch up on the Club Support Session

The Coffee Club will resume next Thursday 25th June 2020 at the normal time of 19:00.

The invite will be sent out next week for this and it’s set to be another exciting session…… James will be joined by Ben Hardaker and Ben Qualtrough, FA Tutors with a wealth of experience in both grassroots and academy football. Our special guests will be exploring how we differentiate practice within our sessions.

In preparation for next Thursday evening they have asked us all to consider three questions:

1. How do you currently differentiate within your coaching sessions?
2. How do you consider the needs and wants of individuals within your practice?
3. How do you support all players of all abilities within your sessions?

Cumberland FA would like to thank all those coaches who have engaged in the Coffee Club so far and given valuable input throughout the lockdown. We look forward to connecting with you all continuously as lockdown eases and we get back to some form of normality whenever that may be.
