The first Women's County Cup Final since 2018-19 takes place this evening!

We’re looking forward to welcoming the two finalists, match officials, volunteers and guests this evening, in our third Senior Final in eleven days.
Cumberland FA would like to thank Penrith AFC, who have recently hosted the Cumberland Cup and Sunday Cup Finals.
This evening will be the first appearance for Stanwix Ladies in the Women’s County Cup Final since they were formed in 2018. The Ladies team were established as their two Under 16 Girls teams moved into open age.
The Club offers a full female player pathway from Under 8’s to Adult. This season a second women’s Stanwix team, the ‘Bees’ have entered the Andrea Buggy Women’s League offering midweek football throughout the summer months.
The team are second in the LFA Women’s Premier Division, playing their home games at Carlisle City FC’s ground Gillford Park and are hoping for a second promotion in two seasons.
Three-time County Cup winners Penrith AFC Ladies defeated the holders Workington Reds Ladies in the semi-final and Carlisle United FC Ladies in the Quarter Finals. Making their eighth appearance in the Final, the team will be looking to lift the trophy for the first time since the 2013-14 season.
Established in 2000, the Club have a full player pathway with the first team competing in the North West Women’s Regional League, Division One North (where they have finished 6th). Additional women’s teams play in the LFA Women’s Premier Division and the Andrea Buggy League offering many opportunities for females to play the game at different levels.
John Burns takes charge as Referee and is assisted by Georgia Vyse and Dan Reed with Adrian Asbridge as fourth official.
Cumberland FA would like to thank Penrith Lions for their kind donation of £100 to sponsor the Match Balls for the Senior Finals.
The player of match will receive a £25 Kitlocker voucher courtesy of Cumberland FA’s Nike partner Kitlocker.
Thanks to our partnership with Veo Camera, the Final will be recorded with teams able to access the analysis tools following the fixture.
Penrith AFC Juniors will be supporting the Final as ball boys/girls.

Walking 1,800 miles in 100 days around Britain for the Multiple Sclerosis Society
We have been asked to promote a charity walk which is being undertaken by a relative of a Penrith AFC Ladies player in aid of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
Gary Rushworth is walking solo around Britain. 1,800 miles in 100 days in memory of his wife, raising funds and awareness for Multiple Sclerosis. We will have buckets this evening to support this challenge so if you have any loose change please drop it in the bucket, or show your support for Gary via his Just Giving page below.
