We’re looking forward to welcoming the two finalists, match officials, volunteers and guests this evening, in our third Senior Final in eleven days.

Cumberland FA would like to thank Penrith AFC, who have recently hosted the Cumberland Cup and Sunday Cup Finals.

This evening will be the first appearance for Stanwix Ladies in the Women’s County Cup Final since they were formed in 2018. The Ladies team were established as their two Under 16 Girls teams moved into open age.

The Club offers a full female player pathway from Under 8’s to Adult. This season a second women’s Stanwix team, the ‘Bees’ have entered the Andrea Buggy Women’s League offering midweek football throughout the summer months.

The team are second in the LFA Women’s Premier Division, playing their home games at Carlisle City FC’s ground Gillford Park and are hoping for a second promotion in two seasons.

Three-time County Cup winners Penrith AFC Ladies defeated the holders Workington Reds Ladies in the semi-final and Carlisle United FC Ladies in the Quarter Finals. Making their eighth appearance in the Final, the team will be looking to lift the trophy for the first time since the 2013-14 season.

Established in 2000, the Club have a full player pathway with the first team competing in the North West Women’s Regional League, Division One North (where they have finished 6th). Additional women’s teams play in the LFA Women’s Premier Division and the Andrea Buggy League offering many opportunities for females to play the game at different levels.
