Young Players in Adult Football

Cumberland FA are committed to ensuring that Adult Football is as safe as possible for 16 and 17-year olds.

Whilst the focus of safeguarding is often seen to be on youth football, it is equally as important that 16- and 17-year-old footballers feel safe whilst taking part in the open age (adult) game and that Clubs take responsibility for the safeguarding of any young players that they have. With this in mind Cumberland FA are offering to cover the costs of TWO FA DBS checks for adult team coaches.

To support the required face-to-face FA DBS verification, Cumberland FA will be arranging drop in dates at central venue locations across the county to meet people and verify documents (more details will be communicated directly with teams).

Under 18s can visit our U18 corner on our website for details on how they can access support.

We encourage Teams with 16 and 17 year-olds to familiarise themselves with this information too.

First Aid

As part of this Team Support Package, the Team Manager or Assistant Manager can complete The FA First Aid Qualification online and request a refund from Cumberland FA (on receipt of a copy of the certificate).

Adult Clubs who have an FA First Aider are also eligible apply for England Football Accreditation.

Cumberland-based Adult Clubs with a DBS coach who achieve England Football Accredited status will receive a FREE First Aid Kit and Match ball courtesy of Cumberland FA.
