Season's Greetings from Cumberland FA
On behalf of the Directors and Staff at Cumberland FA we would like to wish all of those involved within grassroots football a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
2023 was a difficult year for ourselves personally, as it started with us having to come to terms with the loss of our Chair, Fred Conway, and the realisation of the huge hole that he was leaving in terms of both his personality, but also the work undertaken by him in his treasured position as Chair and FA Representative.
Given the circumstances I am proud of what we have achieved as an organisation and am appreciative of the staff team, our Board of Directors, and most importantly the volunteers from within the grassroots game for the sympathy and support afforded to ourselves.
We are a small County, in terms of population, but I believe that our passion for the game sees us all collectively punching well above our weight, when it comes to what we do and the impact we have, in comparison to other County FAs and areas of the country.
Between us we do so much good through enriching and improving people’s lives and for this I want to sincerely thank all those involved in grassroots football within Cumberland for the vital work you undertake and the role that you play.
And if you don’t believe me or need some inspiration then read this story from my friend and local referee Ross!
Have a great Christmas and all the best for 2024.
