Sort Your Surface event with the GMA
Cumberland FA is delighted to announce details of an upcoming event to support grounds volunteers across the county.
In partnership with the Grounds Management Association (The GMA), we are hosting a workshop for grounds volunteers to come along to and benefit from listening to experts from The GMA, as well as hearing from local volunteers who are looking after sites across the county.
The event details are below:
• Venue - Cleator Moor Celtic Football Club (Off Birks Road)
• Date - Wednesday 16th August 2023
• Time - 6.30pm start
• Cost - Free
The evening will focus on:
• Insight from Grounds Management Association Experts
• Hear from Local Ground Volunteers and the work they have been doing
• Learn about Funding Opportunities
• See machinery in action which could help your surface
The evening is open to anyone wishing to come along to increase their knowledge, learn how machines can benefit your surface as well as chatting with other people who are in similar positions. There will be a mix of outdoor viewing of the type of machinery available and how it can help with then an opportunity to benefit from insight from The GMA experts as well as local volunteers, David Graham & Tom Banks, who have kindly agreed to talk about their experiences and we thank David from Cleator Moor Celtic for agreeing to host the event at their site.

Even if your club or site is already benefitting from the Football Foundation’s Grass Pitch Maintenance funding, we are still eager for you to come along and share your experiences with those in attendance to showcase the excellent work going on around the county.
We look forward to welcoming you along on the night!
