Anthony On Friday 12 May, Anthony Backhouse (Level 1) will referee the EFL League One Play-Off Semi-Final First Leg between Peterborough Utd and Sheffield Wednesday (KO 8pm, live on Sky Sports)

Scott Taylor, Cumberland FA Referee Development Officer, said: “These play-off games reflect the hard work and commitment shown by both these referees over the season at their respective level and I am extremely happy for them both.

"It is also a sign of their ability and hopefully an indication that both will receive further good news in the coming weeks when reclassification decisions are made for next season.

"It is great for us to have two Cumberland FA referees on such important games representing the County FA. Both lads act as County CORE Group referee coaches and have given up their spare time this season supporting our grassroots referees with potential and so it is nice that these local referees of the future can see local lads operating on the TV this weekend at a very high level of the game.”
