Cumberland FA is delighted to announce that Komatsu Forest Ltd will sponsor its successful Ability Counts League from 2024 to 2027.
The three-year partnership will see the league be renamed with the Komatsu brand included, with the financial support received as a result expected to aid the league’s growth and sustainability.
Formed in 2011, the Cumberland Ability Counts League offers regular playing opportunities to disabled players aged 6 and over. Fixtures are held once a month between March and October, with teams from across Cumberland taking part at a central venue.
The league has almost doubled in participation over the last two years and has over 230 registered players currently taking part within 7 divisions.
Ray Sempill, Cumberland FA Football Development Officer, said: “We are very excited to be going into a new partnership with Komatsu Forest Ltd. The passion that they have for grassroots football and inclusivity has been clear throughout the discussions.
“I have been very impressed with their work with Carlisle United and their commitment to tackling social and environmental issues. We look forward to working together during the upcoming Ability Counts League seasons.”
Stephen Bellas, Managing Director of Komatsu Forest Limited added: "Komatsu Forest Ltd is honoured to be able to provide support to The Ability Counts League and to be a part of the incredible work of the Cumberland FA, players, coaches, and families involved. We are excited to support the league for the next three years, an environment that promotes the values of teamwork, perseverance, and inclusivity."
Entries for both the ADULT and JUNIOR Komatsu sponsored Ability Counts League’s are NOW OPEN and will close at 5pm Monday 5th February 2024.
