Cumberland FA Volunteers

A Weekend of Positivity – 8 and 9 June 2024

Who deserves a #ThankingThoo?

As the traditional season is almost at a close, we wanted to make the weekend of the 8th and 9th June a weekend where we can all reflect upon what has been another exceptional season within Cumberland, and specifically on all the positive things that make the game so special and important to so many.

This Weekend of Positivity is timed to coincide with Volunteers’ Week 2024, which is celebrated in the first week of June.

So, to celebrate all that is good the CFA will be looking to run a number of initiatives over the weekend.

Thanking Thoo

Firstly, and most importantly, during Volunteers Week 2024 we want to say thank you to all those people who have helped make grassroots football happen.

Grassroots Football volunteers are the lifeblood of the game, and we simply wouldn’t be able to function without their tireless work in providing opportunities for you or your son/daughter or loved one to play.

A small gesture, like saying thank you, can really boost their morale, provide them with a sense of self-worth and remind them why they do what they do to hopefully ensure that they continue to do it in the future.

Whether you are a player/parent who wants to thank the coach, a coach who wants to thank the club officials, a club official who wants to thank a particular referee, a referee who wants to thank a league official, a league official who wants to thank the players and parents, or whoever or whatever you wish to thank for their role in football, we need your help to turn the weekend into a weekend of positivity with a unique Cumbrian twist using the #ThankingThoo when posting your thanks via social media (feel free to tag Cumberland FA in as well).

So, in true Cumbrian fashion…

Who ya garn t’nominate? And please nee Radgee’s

Remember to join in please use the #ThankingThoo and tag in Cumberland FA when you post your thank you message.

John Twentyman Spirit of Football Awards 23/24

The weekend will also see the launch of our 2nd annual John Twentyman Spirit of Football Awards, which look to celebrate and reward those who have displayed, through their actions, a truly memorable sporting moment that you believe deserves recognition.
