Vacancy: League Central Referee Appointments Co-Ordinator(s)

Voluntary Role

Cumberland Football Association are looking to enlist a Central Referee Appointments Co-Ordinator or Co-Ordinators to support the management of appointments within partner leagues and CFA Competitions across the county.

This role would report directly into The CFA Referee Advisory Group and Referee Development Officer. 

(An Honorarium payment(s) will be made to cover relevant expenses and a support package will be discussed and agreed with successful candidate(s))

This vital role will require a proficient administrator with an experienced refereeing background.  You will need to have good organisational skills, good interpersonal skills, be approachable and be able to always communicate effectively and professionally.

This exciting post is a voluntary position with the expected hours needed to fulfil the role anticipated to vary depending upon the time of year and will be managed by the successful individual(s). 

The role will require the individual to be contactable by telephone/e-mail, be IT literate, work unsupervised and be able to work under pressure, handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

This is a great opportunity to be further involved and give something back to the game and local communities, whilst also providing an additional source of income.  The role will include access to training, networking and personal development opportunities and is seen as a perfect role for someone who is passionate and committed to supporting the delivery and development of refereeing within grassroots football in the county. 

Due to the nature of role the individual will be expected to attend a CFA Induction and either already possess or be willing to undertake an FA Enhanced DBS Criminal Records Check and FA Safeguarding training prior to commencing the role.  The possession of a criminal record will not necessarily prevent an applicant from obtaining this post, as all cases are judged individually according to the nature of the role and information provided.

All applications will be reviewed by the CFA Nominations and Appointments Committee and any approved applicants may be asked to attend a Referee Advisory Group Meeting to undertake an ‘informal interview’ and if shortlisted will be contacted to arrange a mutually agreeable time for any such interview.

We will attempt to accommodate any requests, and this may include the need to hold these informal interviews online via Microsoft Teams. 

If required, second informal interviews may be held to determine the most suitable individual for the role.
