TONIGHT

Workington Reds Ladies will be looking to emulate their male counterparts who last week defeated Carlisle United FC in the Fred Conway Cumberland Cup Final (1-0) to retain the Trophy and lift the Women’s Cup for the first time since 2019!

Two-time County Cup Winners, Workington Reds Ladies last won the Cup in 2018-19 beating this evening’s opponents 5-4 on penalties after it finished 2-2 after extra time.

Their previous win was in 2015-16 overcoming Carlisle United Ladies FC.

Workington Reds Ladies are coming into the Final in good form, having been undefeated in 9 matches and currently sit 5th in the North West Women’s Regional League, Division 1 North.

The teams know each other well, and in 3 meetings this season, Penrith AFC Ladies have come out on top (2 wins in the league and 1 in The Women’s FA Cup).

Penrith AFC Ladies are four time Women’s County Cup Champions and were runners up last season. The Blues won three in a row from 2012 to 2014 and more recently in 2021-22 beating Stanwix Ladies.

Penrith AFC Ladies have won their last four games and are on course to finish runners up in the North West Women’s Regional League, Division 1 North with one game to play.

Following tonight, there will be a further 6 County Cup Finals. Find out all the details HERE
