Looking After Players in Cumberland

All clubs are required to purchase Personal Accident Insurance as a condition of their affiliation with Cumberland FA, whilst Public Liability Insurance continues to be provided by us for grassroots clubs.

In 2013, The FA introduced a rule making it mandatory for adult eleven-a-side teams to have personal accident insurance in place each season. This has now extended to cover youth teams. Public liability insurance is also mandatory, and all clubs should carry a limit of indemnity of no less than £10,000,000 for any one occurrence.

If you become injured whilst participating in a club activity, you can incur significant financial losses as a result. Personal Accident Insurance can help offset some of these unexpected expenses.

Personal Accident Insurance is mandatory for all age groups and formats of football in Cumberland, and covers players, committee members, club officials, managers and coaches.

The National Game Insurance Scheme (NGIS) has been designed to address this by raising the standard of insurance covers available and to provide more affordable solutions to grassroots football.

Cover can be arranged by the player's Club by visiting Bluefin Sport

The minimum level of cover is their ‘Superior 200’ package for adult teams and ‘Superior Gold’ for youth team, but you can choose to increase the cover should you wish.
