Pre-Season Preparation

A guide for club secretaries

Whilst we appreciate that the 23-24 traditional season has just finished, we are also aware that it won’t be long until the 24-25 season kicks off and so we just wanted to provide some information that will hopefully help you prepare for the new season.

Kit

Any kits cannot be black or dark coloured, U18 teams must be careful with sponsors and cannot display names, and all shirts must be numbered. More information on kit colours, sponsors, numbers, and names can be seen in this document

11v11 Football in June

As a reminder to grassroots football across Cumberland, June is classed as the closed season and in line with FA Regulations, 11v11 games, both Youth & Adult, are not permitted during June unless they fall under one of the categories below and have the permission of the Sanctioning Authority and/or County FA.

If you are changing your club’s name, then please speak with The CFA.

Changes in Club Committee Members

Likewise, if you plan or must change committee members, then please contact the CFA so that they can ensure that these individuals are set up on the system and support you with any requirements.

Affiliation and Insurance

We are pleased to confirm that team affiliation fees will again be frozen and so will remain as in previous seasons.

Our recommended insurance provider will also remain as Sportsguard

Safeguarding Requirements

To allow for affiliation to occur, it is important that clubs meet the FA safeguarding requirements with regards to qualifications for specific roles.

U6 Teams

Please remember that a child who has not attained the age of 6 shall not play, and shall not be permitted or encouraged to play, in a match of any kind during that season (including friendlies at the end of the season).

A child who attains the age of 6 during the Playing Season can be classed as Under 7 Player for that Playing Season and can play U7 football, but only U7 football.

Due to this rule, U6 teams are insured as coaching teams only and so do not have any insurance to play matches against other clubs and teams.
