The popular primary school programme is moving into its third year of operation and has seen well over 200 girls access regular football; most of which whom don’t play for a local grassroots club.

The programme offers girls only monthly football festivals in primary school clusters in Carlisle, Allerdale, Eden and Copeland, welcoming 5-10 primary school girl’s teams to each event.  The project also hosts an end of season county event in May which brings together all the teams from all 4 clusters.

Jess Nelson, Women’s and Girls Football Development officer said: “We are delighted to offer this bespoke girls programme yet again to our primary schools in Cumberland.  Over the past couple of years we have supported a great deal of girls through their ‘first steps’ in football, and look forward to seeing new players at our first set of events.”

Year 5/6 girls’ school teams are welcome to enter any of the below dates.  Completed team sheets should be sent to Cumberland FA, 17 Oxford St, Workington, CA14 2AL or via email to Jessica.Nelson@CumberlandFA.com
