CP Sport Kick-Off Success
Last Sunday (29 October) saw Cumberland FA team up with CP Sport to provide a Kick-Off event to players with cerebral palsy within the county.
The event forms part of a wider project, aiming to develop cerebral palsy football and frame football opportunities across Cumberland.
October’s Kick-Off event provided local football coaches with the chance to learn from CP Sport’s football coach. This opportunity provided coaches with detailed information on cerebral palsy, the opportunities available within football for those that have cerebral palsy, and how to adapt sessions to ensure that they’re inclusive.
The children and young people in attendance had the chance to take part in some fun and challenging football drills, before participating in small-sided games.
Ray Sempill, Inclusion Football Development Officer at Cumberland FA, said: “The players really enjoyed in and the coaches learned a lot, as well as the session giving them an opportunity to network.”
