Cumberland FA are pleased to announce the following mid-season referee promotions:
Level 7 to 6
• Kevin Young
Level 6 to 5
• Leigh Musgrave
• Paul Stephenson
• Georgia Vyse
Scott Taylor, Cumberland FA Referee Development Officer, said: “Our recent mid-season promotions reflect the hard work and commitment shown by these referees at grassroots level. It is our way of rewarding their on-field refereeing performances over the past few months in Open Age and Youth football.
"I am extremely happy for them all as each and everyone of them has put a lot of effort into gaining their mid-season promotion, as the FA criteria states they must referee a minimum of 25 games and undertake various online CPD courses. They also have to pass an online FA Laws of the Game exam appropriate for their level.
"Three of them are members of our County CORE Group, which is our Centre of Refereeing Excellence, and so I’m hopeful one or two of them can now push on and gain further promotions over the remainder of this season and keep challenging themselves in the process.”
For youth referees and open age referees - Level 7s, 6s, 5s - the promotion pathway has been divided into quarters to allow for the opportunity for greater progression. As such, we now operate 4 promotion windows in which to join the promotion pathway. To find out more, please follow the link below:
